Cahir Development

The organization was first formed in 1991 to combat the perceived negative effects of the new Dublin/Cork bypass. The Association, identified various community and social needs of the town that were not being met at that time and have endeavored to address those needs in a variety of different community Projects – such as Cahir Enterprise Centre, Cahir Development Association Business & Training Centre, Duneske Leisure Centre, Cahir Childcare Centre, Cahir Lotto, Cahir Tidy Towns, Christmas Lights project, Cahir Sensory Garden, Cahir Playground and a variety of Environmental initiatives – all aimed at making Cahir a better place to live, visit and work in.

Cahir Development Business & Training Centre provides internet access through an Internet café, secretarial services are also offered including typing, photocopying scanning, emailing, binding and laminating. The centre in conjunction with Tipperary ETB also provides an LTI Level 5 Business Administration course and ongoing ECDL / Beginners Courses to meet public demand. Membership to Cahir Development Association is open to all and we currently have 70 members. Committee board members are elected yearly at the AGM and operate on a voluntary basis.
