The organisation was first formed in 1991 to combat the perceived negative effects of the new Dublin/Cork bypass. The Association, identified various community and social needs of the town that were not being met at that time and have endeavored to address those needs in a variety of different community Projects – such as Cahir Enterprise Centre, Cahir Training Centre, Duneske Leisure Centre, Cahir Childcare Centre, Cahir Lotto, Cahir Tidy Towns, Christmas Lights project, Cahir Sensory Garden, Cahir Playground and a variety of Environmental initiatives – all aimed at making Cahir a better place to live, visit and work in.
